How to Build Websites With Flash 8

Many modern websites include animated or video content developed through the Adobe Flash application. With Adobe Flash 8 on your PC or Mac computer, you can build your own interactive web elements and then publish them to your website. Once your Flash website has been uploaded to an active web server, visitors will be able to view the content as long as they have the Adobe Flash Player software installed on their browser.

Step 1

Launch the Adobe Flash 8 application by using the Start menu on a PC or the Dock on a Mac.

Step 2

Open an existing Flash document or create a new one using the "File" menu at the top of the screen.

Step 3

Set the height and width of your Flash website through the control panel at the bottom of the screen. The default size of the page will be 550 pixels by 400 pixels.

Step 4

Use the toolbar on the left side of the screen to add animations, text and graphics to your website design.

Step 5

Open the "File" menu and choose the "Save As" option.

Step 6

Choose to save the Flash file on your active web server and give it a name that you will remember.

Step 7

Open the "File" menu again and choose the "Publish Settings" option.

Step 8

Go to the "Formats" tab at the top of the pop-up window.

Step 9

Check the boxes next to ".swf" and ".html" in the pop-up window.

Step 10

Go back to the "File" menu and select "Publish" to export a webpage version of your Flash file to your active web server.
